Using the image "Cut Guava", I created a tile mural for behind a sink. It is framed off with a narrow koa moulding. This particular installation was done with no grouting. The client was looking for a "framed picture" look, hence the lack of surrounding tile. However, setting the image into surrounding, complimentary tile, would be an attractive look as well.
Ceramic tile was used here - stone or glass tile is also available as the "canvas". The technology used to create this "reproduction" creates a tile that is heat resistant, scratch resistant, and easily cleaned with standard cleaning products. The product is very cost effective when compared to hand painted tiles or many of the "designer" tiles available on the market today.
